JUNIOR FOOTBALL

We class juniors as anyone wanting to play Under 6’s through to Under 11’s. Games for these groups are all non-competitive (no tables) and are based on Small Sided Game rules.

UNDER
6/7

  • Train once a week before the match (Saturday)
  • All matches held on Saturday at Mackey Park
  • Season runs from April to August
  • Pre season training beginning in March
  • Team size 10 (max)
  • Games follow Small Sided Games format(4 v 4)

UNDER
8/9

  • Train once a week (Tuesday – Thursday)
  • All matches (Home & Away) held on Saturday
  • Girls play on Sunday (Home & Away)
  • Season runs from April to August
  • Pre season training beginning in March
  • Team size 10 (max)
  • Games follow Small Sided Games format(7 v 7)

UNDER
10/11

  • Train once a week (Tuesday – Thursday)
  • All matches (Home & Away) held on Saturday
  • Girls play on Sunday (Home & Away)
  • Season runs from April to August
  • Pre season training beginning in March
  • Team size 12 (max)
  • Games follow Small Sided Games format(9 v 9)

Registration

Registration for the season opens in January for a limited period. If you wish to play and it is outside the registration window then please contact us through info@marrickvillefc.org.au

A week in the life of a junior footballer

Monday

No training, parks closed

Tuesday

Training times scheduled between 17:30 – 19:00 and to last no more than 1 hour

Wednesday

Training times scheduled between 17:30 – 19:00 and to last no more than 1 hour

Need to confirm attendance for the weekends match with your teams Coach or Manager

Thursday

Training times scheduled between 17:30 – 19:00 and to last no more than 1 hour

Friday

No training, parks closed

Saturday

Game day, put on your football kit, pack your boots and enjoy your match.

First and last matches of the day we require assistance in setting up and packing away the fields, remember that many hand make light work.

Players kit

Match day kit
Shirt, shorts and socks

Training equipment
Balls, bibs, cones, training bag (to carry the equipment between the car and training grounds)

Match day equipment
Goals, corner posts, reserves bench, match ball (provided in the teams training kit)

Boots
Shin pads
Training apparel
Water bottle (playing football is thirsty work)

  • Code of Conduct – remember by registering you are signing up to this
  • Fines – getting sent off, late notification of forfeits.
  • Players Cards must be presented for all matches
  • Remember that the club is run by volunteers, please be patient.
  • Please take care with all club equipment and grounds. Doing so will help them to last longer and keep fees down
